MAURITIUS — Hon. Lilian Ruteraho, Woman Member of Parliament for Isingiro District, is in Mauritius undertaking national duties as she represents Uganda in an international engagement.
Ruteraho, who is currently in the island nation, shared an update on her activities, describing her fourth day in Mauritius as part of her continued service to the country beyond Uganda’s borders.
“Day 4 of executing national duties in Mauritius! Representing Uganda beyond borders!” Ruteraho said in a message accompanying her activities.
Her presence in Mauritius reflects the role of Ugandan legislators in international engagements, where Members of Parliament participate in programmes that provide opportunities for countries to exchange experiences, strengthen cooperation and discuss issues of common interest.
For Ruteraho, the assignment forms part of her responsibilities as a representative of the people of Isingiro District and as a Ugandan leader participating in engagements beyond the country.
The legislator has continued to emphasise issues affecting communities, particularly education, skills development and opportunities for young people. She has also encouraged young people to embrace practical skills as a pathway to self-reliance and employment.
Her current assignment in Mauritius adds to her parliamentary responsibilities, providing an opportunity to represent Uganda while engaging with counterparts and other participants from across different countries.
Ruteraho’s participation underscores the importance of Uganda’s representation in international engagements and the contribution of legislators to discussions that connect national priorities with broader regional and international experiences.
