RUKIGA — State Minister for Gender and Culture, Hon. Mary Kutesa Kamuli, has received a heroic welcome in Rukiga District as she graces the launch of the ‘Emikono Yeitu’ (Our Hands) skilling programme, an initiative sponsored by Rukiga District Woman MP, Hon. Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe.
Minister Kutesa Kamuli was warmly received with vibrant Kikiga cultural dances as hundreds of residents, local leaders, religious leaders and other distinguished guests gathered for the highly anticipated launch.
The occasion brings together leaders from across Uganda, with Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe taking centre stage as the driving force behind the skilling programme aimed at equipping members of the community with practical skills and creating opportunities for improved livelihoods.
The launch is being attended by several prominent leaders, including Hon. Annet Mugisha, Woman MP for Bushenyi District; Hon. Patrick Kiconco Katabazi, Rukiga County MP; Hon. Joseph Mugenyi, Burahya County MP; and Hon. David Murindwa Isimbwa, Busongora North MP.
Also present are Rukiga District LC5 Chairman Robert Mbabazi Rwamagyenda, Resident District Commissioner Zadock Kamusiime, alongside other local leaders, religious leaders and community representatives.
The colourful reception for Minister Kutesa Kamuli has added a strong cultural touch to an occasion centred on skills development, empowerment and community transformation.
As the Emikono Yeitu programme gets underway, Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe is using the platform to champion practical empowerment, with the initiative placing skills at the heart of efforts to expand opportunities for people in Rukiga.
The presence of Minister Kutesa Kamuli, together with national and local leaders, has further elevated the significance of the launch as Rukiga celebrates an initiative focused on empowering communities through practical skills.
