RUKIGA – Rukiga District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe has joined family members, friends, religious leaders and Christians at St. Mark Kyogo Parish in Buhangizi Archdeaconry, Kigezi Diocese, to celebrate her mother-in-law, Mrs. Joy Mwanaki, as she marks 90 years of life.
The thanksgiving service, which is taking place now, has brought together hundreds of Christians and well-wishers to thank God for Mrs. Mwanaki’s long life and celebrate the journey she has shared with her family and community.
Dr. Sylvia, who is the first daughter-in-law of the late Mwanaki, is attending the special family occasion alongside fellow leaders and other distinguished guests.
The celebration is filled with praise, worship and thanksgiving, with family members reflecting on Mrs. Mwanaki’s 90 years of life, faith and family.
The occasion is guided by the words of Psalm 23:6: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Among the leaders attending the thanksgiving are Kabale District Woman MP Hon. Enid Origumisiriza, Rukiga County MP Hon. Patrick Kiconco Katabazi and Bushenyi District Woman MP Hon. Annet Mugisha, together with religious leaders and other political leaders.
The Bishop of Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Gad Akanjuna, is the main celebrant and is leading the thanksgiving service.
For Dr. Sylvia, the gathering is also a special family moment as she joins relatives and friends in honouring her mother-in-law and giving thanks to God for the gift of 90 years.
The celebration continues with prayers, worship and messages of appreciation as the Mwanaki family and their guests mark the remarkable milestone.
