The partnership was officially unveiled during a launch ceremony attended by prominent figures from Uganda’s football fraternity, business community and the sponsors’ management teams, marking a new development in the club’s efforts to strengthen its operations and football activities.

The ceremony was graced by Hon. Kayemba Ssolo, a FIFA-licensed football agent, former Uganda Cranes striker Emmanuel Okwi and senior management representatives from both sponsoring organisations.

The sponsorship brings together Lavile Mwiru Holdings SMC and Busoga One in a partnership expected to provide support to Stone City FC as it continues to develop its football ambitions and strengthen its presence in the local football scene.

Mwiru, who is also a lawyer and a senior opposition figure in Uganda’s 12th Parliament, has maintained an active presence in Jinja’s public and business affairs. He represents Jinja South Division East on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket and serves as the Chief Opposition Whip in Parliament.

The involvement of Busoga One also highlights the importance of local media and business partnerships in supporting sports development, particularly in a region where football continues to attract significant interest among young people and communities.

The participation of Emmanuel Okwi, whose experience with the Uganda Cranes has made him a recognised figure in Ugandan football, added a strong sporting dimension to the launch, while Kayemba Ssolo brought his football management and player representation experience to the occasion.

The partnership is expected to contribute to Stone City FC’s growth by bringing together business support and media visibility, although the sponsors had not publicly detailed the financial value, duration or specific terms of the agreement in the announcement.

The development underscores the role of private-sector investment and strategic partnerships in strengthening football clubs, creating opportunities for players and supporting the growth of the sport in the Busoga region.
