RUBIRIZI —Hon Cadet Benjamini Buturo The Member of Parliament for Bunyaruguru County has commended the Minister of Local Government, Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, for his strong fight against corruption in Rubirizi District said the coming of Minister Balaam to Rubirizi is very timely and will help to reduce corruption and ensure value for money, transparency and proper accountability among all government workers in the management of government resources and projects.
Hon cadet said Hon Balam Visit was purposeful because Rubirizi has been facing many challenges of corruption, embezzlement of government funds and shoddy work in government projects.
According to Hon. Cadet, leaders in Rubirizi are very happy because the Minister gave them hope, listened to them attentively and allowed residents to present their real needs and demands said the Minister physically moved around the district, inspected schools, health centres, roads, water sources and markets, and saw the reality on the ground.
Hon. Cadet criticized some government workers who embezzle taxpayers’ money and fail to deliver services to the people noted that the reason people keep blaming the central government, claiming that government is not working, yet government sends a lot of money which is eaten by some government officials noting that Some workers eat bribes, neglect their duty, and do not want to do the work they were given.
