KAGADI — Buyaga West Member of Parliament Hon. Dennis Namara has joined PLU mobilisers, NRM leaders and supporters in Kagadi District in launching an endorsement drive for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba ahead of the 2031 presidential election.

The endorsement exercise was launched on Thursday at the Kagadi Freedom Tree in Kagadi Town Council, bringing together local political leaders, PLU mobilisers, security representatives and residents.

Speaking during the launch, PLU Coordinator for Kagadi District James Byarugaba urged residents to participate in the registration and endorsement exercise.
Byarugaba described Gen. Muhoozi as a potential successor to President Yoweri Museveni and said supporting him would help protect the achievements of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government.
He also identified corruption as one of Uganda’s major challenges and said Gen. Muhoozi had been vocal about the need to address the problem.
Kagadi District NRM Chairperson Karungi Erukana Mpoza also rallied local NRM leaders and supporters to back Gen. Muhoozi, calling upon them to participate in the endorsement exercise ahead of 2031.
PLU Chief Mobiliser for Kagadi District Jocious Tumukwasiibwe thanked residents for turning up for the launch and supporting the initiative.
He said Kagadi had received four official PLU endorsement books, which would be distributed to different sub-counties within one week to allow residents to participate in the endorsement process.
The exercise is expected to give residents across Kagadi an opportunity to register their support for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba ahead of the 2031 presidential election.
The launch was attended by Ensonga Team Chairperson Eric Musana, Buyaga West MP Hon. Dennis Namara, Kagadi District Woman MP Naziwa Margret, members of the security team, PLU mobilisers and other invited guests.
The Kagadi endorsement drive forms part of the wider mobilisation exercise being conducted by PLU in support of Gen. Muhoozi ahead of 2031.
