KAZO — Kazo County Member of Parliament Hon. Dan Kimosho has described the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) as a supportive force to the National Resistance Movement (NRM), saying the two should work together to protect the achievements of the ruling party over the past 40 years.
Kimosho made the remarks on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Kazo Model Playground, where PLU mobilisers gathered to collect signatures from supporters endorsing Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for the presidency.
In his speech, Kimosho said PLU was not established to fight or replace NRM, but rather to strengthen the movement and ensure that its achievements are protected.
He said PLU is ready to defend what the NRM government has achieved over the last four decades and called for unity between the two groups.
“PLU and NRM are one,” Kimosho said, urging supporters not to allow anyone to create divisions between them.
He compared the relationship between PLU and NRM to supporting an elderly person who has spent many years building society, saying such a person deserves support and additional strength.
According to Kimosho, PLU should therefore act as a supplement that gives NRM additional strength while ensuring that the country’s political transition remains peaceful.
He further urged residents to participate in the endorsement exercise and support Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as PLU continues its mobilisation activities across the country.
The mobilisation was also attended by Kazo District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Molly Kamukama, PLU spokesperson Polly Karamuzi Katwire, Kazo District LCV Chairperson Rev. Samuel Katugunda and PLU Kazo District Coordinator Daniel Tito.
Katwire told residents that Gen. Muhoozi is expected to leave his current military office in 2031 and enter elective politics, calling upon Ugandans to endorse him as the country prepares for the future.
Rev. Katugunda thanked the NRM government for its contribution to the country and called upon Kazo residents to participate in the endorsement of Gen. Muhoozi.
Daniel Tito, the PLU Coordinator for Kazo District, similarly encouraged residents to back the endorsement exercise and support Gen. Muhoozi.
The Kazo mobilisation forms part of the wider PLU exercise to collect signatures in support of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s proposed presidential candidature.
