JINJA: Jinja South East Member of Parliament Hon. Paul Mwiru has joined fellow National Unity Platform (NUP) leaders and supporters in Jinja to mark Bobi Wine Solidarity Day through a tree-planting exercise aimed at promoting environmental conservation and strengthening community solidarity.

Mwiru took part in the activity at the NUP Jinja headquarters alongside Jinja City Woman MP Hon. Sarah Lwansasula, Hon. Hussein Muyonjo and NUP supporter Sauda Madada.

The activity brought together NUP members and supporters as part of activities organised to commemorate Bobi Wine Solidarity Day, with tree planting providing an opportunity for participants to engage in a practical community activity.

Mwiru said he was proud to join his comrades in planting trees and renewing hope, describing the gathering as an opportunity for people to come together around activities that benefit both the present and future generations.

The legislator emphasised the importance of remaining united and hopeful, as NUP members in Jinja participated in the activity alongside other party leaders and supporters.

The tree-planting exercise also highlighted the importance of environmental conservation, with participants contributing to efforts aimed at increasing tree cover and encouraging communities to take greater responsibility for their environment.

The Jinja event formed part of activities through which NUP members across the country are observing the solidarity day, combining political solidarity with community-based initiatives.

Mwiru’s participation further placed him among NUP leaders using the occasion to engage directly with supporters while promoting activities that extend beyond political mobilisation.

The Jinja gathering ended with a message of unity and hope, as Mwiru and fellow participants reaffirmed their commitment to standing together and contributing to positive change in their communities.
