Kazo, Uganda — Kazo District Woman Member of Parliament Molly Nawe Kamukama has secured 80,000 coffee seedlings from the Office of the President for distribution to farmers in Kazo.

Kamukama said the seedlings were secured through her efforts to lobby for agricultural support for the people of Kazo, with the initiative aimed at helping farmers expand coffee production.
The MP expressed appreciation to President Yoweri Museveni for supporting the initiative and providing the seedlings for the people of Kazo.
She also thanked State House Controller Jane Barekye for presiding over the event where the support was delivered.
Kamukama further recognised Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa for championing the initiative and supporting efforts to secure the seedlings for Kazo farmers.
The 80,000 seedlings are expected to support farmers interested in establishing new coffee gardens and expanding existing plantations across the district.
Coffee farming remains an important source of income for many Ugandan households, making access to quality seedlings an important step in increasing production.
Kamukama said the support reflects her commitment to mobilising government assistance and development opportunities for the people of Kazo.
The distribution of the seedlings is expected to give farmers an opportunity to increase coffee production and strengthen household incomes as Kazo continues to promote commercial agriculture.
