SHEEMA DISTRICT, UGANDA — Hon. Adrine Katusiime Mwebesa, the Sheema District Woman Member of Parliament, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, joined President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, fellow legislators, government ministers and other distinguished guests at a thanksgiving ceremony organised by Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu at Bugongi Town Council Playground in Sheema District.
The ceremony was organised by Prof. Kamuntu, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Member of Parliament for Sheema County South, to express gratitude following his political journey and electoral success. President Museveni attended the function as the Chief Guest, joining Kamuntu’s family, friends, political colleagues and residents of Sheema in the celebrations.
Hon. Katusiime’s attendance highlighted her participation in an important gathering that brought together national and local leaders to celebrate Prof. Kamuntu and reflect on the responsibilities of leadership and public service. As the district’s Woman Representative in Parliament, she is among the elected leaders entrusted with representing the interests of Sheema residents at the national level.
The event attracted several prominent government officials, including Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, alongside ministers and Members of Parliament from the Ankole sub-region and other parts of the country. Among the leaders reported at the function were Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi and Hon. Wilson Muruli Mukasa’s fellow government representatives, as well as other distinguished political figures.
