RUKIGA — Rukiga District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe Mwanaki has been appointed Vice Chairperson of the Well-being and Productivity Cluster Sub-Committee of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Budget (PACOB).
Dr. Alinaitwe will deputise Hon. Lilian Paparu Obiale, the Woman Member of Parliament for Arua District, who chairs the cluster.
The appointment places the Rukiga legislator in a strategic national role within a committee established to provide advice on Uganda’s budgeting priorities and the effective implementation of public resources.
With her new responsibility, Dr. Alinaitwe is expected to participate in discussions and initiatives focusing on the relationship between public investment, economic productivity and the well-being of Ugandans.
A role beyond Rukiga
Dr. Alinaitwe’s appointment expands her responsibilities from representing Rukiga in Parliament to contributing to broader national conversations on development and resource allocation.
The Well-being and Productivity Cluster is concerned with areas that directly affect the lives and economic potential of Ugandans, making the new assignment particularly significant for sectors such as health, education, employment, production and livelihoods.
For Rukiga, having its Woman Member of Parliament serve in such a position provides another avenue for the district’s priorities to feature in national-level discussions.
