LUGAZI MUNICIPALITY — The Member of Parliament for Oyam North, Dr Eunice Apio Otuko, on Sunday joined Hon. Richard Senteza and his family for a thanksgiving and church fundraising ceremony held in Lugazi Municipality.
The colourful gathering brought together political leaders, clergy, church members and residents to celebrate Hon. Senteza’s thanksgiving while also mobilising support for the development and upkeep of the church.
The thanksgiving celebration was marked by a Holy Mass led by Rev. Fr. Kibowa Ginatiyo, who guided the congregation through the religious proceedings.
Addressing the congregation, Dr Otuko said she was honoured to join Hon. Senteza and his family on the special occasion, noting that she had attended the event on behalf of the people of Oyam North and her family.
Dr Otuko commended Hon. Senteza for celebrating the thanksgiving together with the church, saying such occasions provide an opportunity for leaders and communities to come together in faith and service.
As part of her contribution towards the church’s upkeep, Dr Otuko donated Shs1 million, adding her support to the fundraising efforts aimed at strengthening the church and its activities.
The Oyam North legislator also thanked the organisers for inviting the church to be part of the programme and extended her best wishes to Hon. Senteza and his family for continued blessings.
The ceremony ended with a strong spirit of thanksgiving, fellowship and community support, bringing together political leadership, the clergy and the local community around both faith and the shared goal of supporting church development.
