KAMPALA – Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (Industry), Hon. David Bahati, has met leaders of the African Evangelistic Enterprise (AEE) as the organisation prepares for its 55th anniversary celebrations next year.

Bahati held discussions with Rev. Canon Justus Muwanda, Board Chairperson of African Evangelistic Enterprise, alongside the organisation’s Acting Vice Team Leader, Dr. K.Y. Kidza Mugerwa, in an engagement focused on recognising AEE’s longstanding contribution to faith, education and community transformation.

The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the organisation’s history and its contribution to Uganda, particularly through evangelism, Christian ministry and community development initiatives.

Founded by the late Bishop Festo Kivengere, AEE has built a legacy of spreading the Christian faith while supporting initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of communities across the country.

During the engagement, Bahati also reflected on his personal connection to the late Bishop Kivengere, acknowledging his role in introducing the Stromme Foundation to the Diocese of Kigezi.

The Minister recalled that he personally benefited from educational support through the initiative, describing it as an important contribution to his academic journey and an example of how faith-based organisations can transform individual lives through education.

Bahati recognised AEE’s enduring contribution to faith, education and community development in Uganda, highlighting the importance of institutions that invest in people and support opportunities for future generations.

As the organisation looks towards its 55th anniversary celebrations, the engagement also highlights the importance of preserving the legacy of its founders while strengthening its contribution to society.

The meeting brought together the minister and AEE’s senior leadership at a time when the organisation is preparing to celebrate its history and reflect on its continued role in evangelism, education and community transformation.
