RUKIGA — Rukiga District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe, is currently in the studios of Rukiga FM, engaging residents about the upcoming launch of a major skilling programme aimed at equipping people with practical skills for self-reliance.
According to Dr. Alinaitwe and the programme coordinators, the official launch is scheduled for Monday, September 21, at Kyerero Playground.
The training will offer a range of practical skills, including soap making, shoe making, bakery, crafts, among others, giving participants an opportunity to acquire skills that can be turned into income-generating activities.
Speaking during the radio engagement, Dr. Alinaitwe encouraged residents to take advantage of the programme and actively participate in the training.
She said the initiative is intended to help address unemployment, promote self-reliance and enable households to increase their incomes through practical skills and small businesses.
Residents across Rukiga are therefore being encouraged to attend the launch and make use of the opportunity to learn skills that can support their livelihoods.
