KAMPALA, UGANDA — Member of Parliament Bukooli North Constituency
Hon. Mukuve Jamal Ayagalachi has joined fellow members of the Muslim Parliamentary Caucus in fulfilling their pledge of 1,000 bags of cement towards the construction of the Kyanja Waqf project, in a move aimed at supporting the development of Islamic institutions in Uganda.

The legislators were led by the Chairperson of the Muslim Parliamentary Caucus, Hon. Hassan Kirumira Lukalidde, as they delivered on the commitment to support the construction project, which is expected to contribute to the development of Muslim community institutions.

Hon. Ayagalachi described the occasion as an honour, joining fellow caucus members in fulfilling what he termed a landmark pledge towards the Kyanja Waqf construction project. The contribution reflects the caucus members’ commitment to supporting initiatives that serve the Muslim community.

The pledge of 1,000 bags of cement represents a contribution towards the construction works, providing building materials to support progress on the project. Such contributions from leaders and community stakeholders can help mobilise resources for institutions serving religious and social needs.

The Kyanja Waqf project is part of efforts to strengthen Islamic institutions and support the long-term development of community assets. Waqf initiatives traditionally involve dedicating resources or property to charitable, religious and community purposes, with benefits intended to extend beyond individual beneficiaries.

Hon. Ayagalachi noted the importance of the contribution in strengthening Islamic institutions and building a lasting legacy rooted in faith and community service. His participation highlighted the role elected leaders can play in supporting initiatives that bring together religious leadership, public service and community development.

The involvement of the Muslim Parliamentary Caucus also demonstrates how collective commitments can be translated into practical support for community projects. By working together under their chairperson, the legislators joined efforts to contribute towards a shared objective benefiting the Muslim community.

The fulfilment of the cement pledge is expected to support the construction process, although the overall project timeline, total construction budget and remaining resource requirements were not specified in the announcement. Continued coordination among stakeholders will be important in sustaining progress.

Hon. Ayagalachi’s participation in the initiative underscores his involvement in collective efforts to support Islamic institutions and community development. The contribution towards the Kyanja Waqf project marks a step in the caucus’s commitment to faith-based service and the development of facilities intended to benefit the wider community.
