KAZO — Kazo County Member of Parliament Hon. Dan Kimosho has engaged police authorities over a recent series of killings in Kazo District that has raised concern among residents over the safety and security of their communities.

The killings, reported in different parts of the district since late August, include the deaths of three children in Kajuzya Village, Nkungu Sub-county, on August 30, as well as a separate attack on students in Nyarubanga Cell, Kanoni Sub-county, on September 3.

In a statement to residents, Kimosho said he formally wrote to Police Headquarters following the incidents, calling for authorities to intervene and ensure thorough investigations into the killings.

Following his engagement, the regional police leadership travelled to Kazo and held a meeting with key stakeholders to discuss the security situation and measures to address concerns raised by residents.

Kimosho said investigations into the incidents are ongoing and confirmed that some suspects have already been taken into custody as police work to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The legislator said he is closely monitoring the progress of the investigations and will continue updating residents as more information becomes available.

“The safety and security of our people remain my top priority,” Hon. Kimosho said.

He urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies as investigations continue to establish the facts surrounding the killings.

As investigations continue, residents are awaiting further updates from the security authorities on the progress of the cases. Kimosho said he will continue engaging the relevant authorities and monitoring the situation to ensure that the concerns of the people of Kazo receive the necessary attention.
