KABALE — Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Enid Origumisiriza, has pledged her support to the newly installed Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Bonaventure Bosco Gubazire, as he begins his pastoral leadership in the Kigezi sub-region.

Speaking to journalists during the Bishop’s ordination and installation ceremony, Hon. Origumisiriza said political leaders stand ready to work with Bishop Gubazire in addressing challenges affecting the people of Kabale and the wider community.

Origumisiriza said the new bishop should be viewed not only as a religious leader but also as a partner in the broader mission of serving and improving the lives of the people.
She emphasized that leaders have a responsibility to work together with religious institutions to tackle poverty, particularly by sensitizing communities about government programmes and ensuring that citizens understand and benefit from available opportunities.
According to Origumisiriza, effective sensitization can empower communities to participate in government programmes, improve household livelihoods and contribute to the social and economic transformation of the district.
She also identified corruption as another major challenge requiring collective action, stressing the need for leaders and communities to remain committed to fighting practices that undermine public service delivery and development.
Origumisiriza said her commitment to working with the new bishop reflects the importance of cooperation between political and religious leaders in promoting development, accountability and the wellbeing of the people.
As Bishop Gubazire begins his ministry in Kabale Diocese, Origumisiriza expressed confidence that continued collaboration between the Church, government and local communities can contribute to addressing poverty, strengthening accountability and improving the lives of people across the region.
