KAMPALA – Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives David Bahati was among the leaders who gathered at State House Entebbe for the 28th National Prayer Breakfast, an event that brought together political leaders, religious figures and other invited guests in a spirit of faith, fellowship and national unity.

The gathering, hosted by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First Lady Maama Janet Museveni, provided an opportunity for leaders from different backgrounds to come together in prayer and reflect on the importance of faith in public service and the country’s development.

Bahati joined fellow participants in witnessing an atmosphere of unity, where individuals from different political and religious backgrounds shared a common platform. The event demonstrated how faith can create opportunities for dialogue and strengthen relationships among leaders and citizens.

The National Prayer Breakfast remains an important occasion for reflection, bringing together people who may hold different opinions but share a common interest in Uganda’s peace, stability and prosperity. Such gatherings encourage mutual respect and remind leaders of the importance of working together for the good of the country.

Bahati’s participation highlighted the value of fellowship among public leaders and the role such engagements can play in strengthening cooperation. Beyond official responsibilities, the gathering offered participants an opportunity to connect with one another in an environment centred on prayer, humility and shared national aspirations.

The presence of religious leaders added to the significance of the occasion, reinforcing the place of faith in encouraging moral responsibility, compassion and service to others. Their participation also reflected the diversity of Uganda’s religious community and the importance of peaceful coexistence among people of different beliefs.

The event further provided a platform for political leaders to interact outside their usual official duties. Through such engagements, leaders can renew their commitment to dialogue, mutual understanding and collective responsibility in addressing the challenges facing the country.

For Bahati and other participants, the breakfast served as a reminder that national progress requires more than political leadership alone. It also depends on unity, integrity, respect for others and a shared commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous society for present and future generations.

As Uganda continues to pursue its development goals, gatherings such as the National Prayer Breakfast offer an opportunity to strengthen the bonds that hold the nation together. The occasion at State House Entebbe underscored the importance of faith, fellowship and cooperation in promoting national harmony, with leaders encouraged to translate the spirit of unity into meaningful service to the people of Uganda.
