SIRONKO – Supporters of Budadiri East Member of Parliament, Hon. Julius Nakiyi Muntu, have suggested that he could return to Parliament unopposed in the 2031 elections if he fulfils his campaign manifesto and delivers on his promises to the electorate.
In a statement expressing confidence in his leadership, the supporters said the people of Budadiri East had united in electing Nakiyi as their parliamentary representative, placing expectations on him to deliver meaningful results during his five-year term.
They argued that his political future would largely depend on his performance in office, particularly his ability to address the concerns of residents and fulfil the commitments he made while seeking their mandate.
The supporters introduced the slogan “Team No Posters in 2031”, expressing optimism that Nakiyi’s performance could earn him overwhelming support and potentially eliminate the need for a competitive campaign in the next general election.
According to their suggestion, the possibility of returning unopposed would depend on how well the legislator served the people and demonstrated commitment to the development priorities of Budadiri East.
They further emphasised the importance of fulfilling his election manifesto, noting that promises made during campaigns should translate into tangible achievements that improve the lives of the electorate.
The supporters also appeared to place service delivery above political publicity, using the no-posters slogan to communicate their expectation that the MP’s work during his current term would speak for itself.
Nakiyi, who represents Budadiri East in Sironko District, serves in the 12th Parliament under the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Their suggestion has placed the spotlight on the relationship between political leadership, accountability and voter confidence, with the supporters expressing hope that his performance over the next five years would secure continued backing from the people of Budadiri East.
