Kazo District — Kazo District leaders and security officials have convened a high-level security meeting to address the growing security concerns in the district, particularly the recent wave of murders that has claimed the lives of more than ten people within a short period. Kazo County Member of Parliament Hon. Dan Kimosho Atwijukire joined the leaders in the discussions, calling for stronger coordination and urgent action to protect residents

The meeting was held at St. Catherine Secondary School in Kazo and brought together Hon. Kimosho, Hon. Molly Kamukama, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), the District Internal Security Officer (DISO), Kazo District Local Government leadership and the Regional Police Commander for Rwizi.
The meeting provided a platform for district leaders and security agencies to examine the security situation in detail, with particular attention to the circumstances surrounding the recent killings and the challenges facing security personnel in preventing and responding to such incidents.
Kimosho, who represents Kazo County in Parliament, expressed deep concern over the continued loss of lives and emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration between political leaders, district authorities, the Uganda Police Force and other security organs.
The legislator pledged to continue engaging with the district leadership and relevant security agencies as efforts are intensified to expedite investigations, establish the circumstances surrounding the killings and ensure that those found responsible face justice in accordance with the law.
Kimosho also said he would continue raising the security concerns of Kazo with higher authorities and advocating for stronger interventions aimed at protecting communities and restoring a sense of safety among residents.
“The safety and security of the people of Kazo is my top priority,” Kimosho said, reaffirming his commitment to working with district leaders and security agencies to address the situation.
The meeting also focused on the role of residents in strengthening community security. Kimosho urged people across Kazo District to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies and promptly report suspicious activities or information that could assist ongoing investigations.
The engagement comes as Kazo District continues to confront heightened security concerns, with local leaders and security agencies seeking coordinated solutions to protect lives and prevent further loss of life.
Kimosho’s participation underscores his continued engagement with district authorities on matters affecting his constituents, as efforts continue to strengthen security, support investigations and restore confidence among communities across Kazo.
