KAZO DISTRICT — Member of Parliament for Kazo County, Hon. Dan Kimosho, has commended the joint security operation in the district following the arrest of suspects linked to a series of brutal killings in Nkungu Sub County.
Kimosho praised the Regional Police Commander (RPC) Rwizi, working together with the Regional Internal Security Officer (RISO) and Kazo security teams, for their swift response and efforts towards apprehending individuals suspected to be connected to the attacks.
His remarks follow a deadly incident in which a mother and her two children were killed, while two other people sustained serious injuries. The latest attack has heightened concern over the safety of residents in Nkungu and surrounding communities.
According to Kimosho, the latest incident is deeply disturbing and demonstrates the urgent need for security agencies to strengthen operations and investigations in the affected areas.
The Kazo legislator said that 10 people have lost their lives in similar attacks over the past two months, with women and children increasingly among those affected. The reported incidents have raised serious concerns among residents and local leaders about the security situation in the district.
While commending security for the arrests made so far, Kimosho urged investigators to pursue the matter further to ensure that every person involved in the attacks is identified, arrested and brought before the courts of law.
He further called for strengthened security operations and closer engagement with communities to prevent further attacks and restore confidence among residents, particularly those living in areas that have experienced repeated incidents.
Kimosho said the people of Kazo deserve to live and conduct their daily activities without fear, stressing that the protection of lives must remain a priority. He commended the security teams for the action taken so far while urging them not to relent until the perpetrators of the killings are brought to justice.
