KIBAALE — The Deputy Resident District Commissioner (Deputy RDC) for Kibaale District, Godfrey Kamagara, has commended Buyanja East County Member of Parliament Dr. Emely Kugonza for his continued efforts towards fighting poverty, creating employment opportunities for young people and supporting infrastructure development in the area.

Kamagara made the remarks while appearing on a local radio programme in Kibaale District, where he spoke about the importance of community development and the role of leaders in improving the livelihoods of citizens.

He praised Dr. Kugonza for what he described as his active participation in parliamentary sessions and his continued engagement on issues affecting the people of Buyanja East and Kibaale District.

According to Kamagara, development should go beyond political discussions and focus on practical initiatives that improve household incomes and create opportunities, particularly for young people.

He also encouraged residents to take advantage of available opportunities in farming, business and other income-generating activities rather than spending most of their time following politicians.

Kamagara urged citizens to invest their energy in activities that can provide sustainable sources of income for their families, noting that individual effort and productive work remain important in improving household livelihoods.

He further called on residents to work together with their leaders and make use of government programmes and other available opportunities aimed at improving economic wellbeing.

The Deputy RDC’s remarks come at a time when leaders across Kibaale are increasingly emphasizing poverty reduction, youth employment and community-based economic activities as key priorities for local development.
