KAZO COUNTY — Kazo constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Atwijukire Dan Kimosho has called on residents of the constituency to turn up for an endorsement event for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba scheduled for Thursday, September 17.
Kimosho, who was returned to Parliament in the 2026 general elections, said Kazo holds a significant place in the history of the National Resistance Army (NRA) struggle and the National Resistance Movement (NRM). The Kazo District local government reported that Kimosho won the directly elected Kazo County parliamentary seat with 40,904 votes, representing 71.67 percent of valid votes cast.
In his message to constituents, Kimosho recalled the contribution of people from the area to the NRA struggle that began in 1981. He referenced several commanders associated with the struggle, including the late Gen. Elly Tumwine, the late Col. Patrick Lumumba, the late Brig. Chefe Ali, Gen. Joram Mugume, the late Gen. Taban and the late Lt. Col. Kimosho, among others.
According to the MP, residents of Kazo provided recruits, intelligence and other forms of support during the liberation struggle, with families also playing a role in supporting fighters.
Hon. Kimosho linked the history of Kazo to his call for residents to participate in Thursday’s endorsement event, arguing that the constituency’s historical contribution to the NRA struggle should inform its current political engagement.
He described support for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as a continuation of the values associated with the NRA/NRM struggle and urged residents to participate in the planned event.
Hon. Kimosho’s remarks come as political activities surrounding Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s political ambitions continue to attract attention across different parts of the country.
