Addressing Muslim faithful at Butera Masjid Noor in Kyaka Central, Amooti said development could only be achieved when communities organised themselves and actively participated in government initiatives rather than waiting for opportunities to come their way.

He encouraged Muslims to take advantage of programmes such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, the Youth Livelihood Programme and the Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP), noting that organised groups stood a better chance of accessing available government support.

Amooti urged mosque leaders and community members to establish registered groups for young people, women and farmers, saying such structures would help residents access funding opportunities and improve their household incomes.

He also emphasised the importance of education and skills development, encouraging parents to take their children to school while urging young people to enrol in vocational training centres and embrace modern farming practices.

The legislator further called for unity, transparency and accountability in managing government funds, particularly under the PDM programme, cautioning community members against leadership conflicts and mismanagement of resources.

He pledged to support the Muslim community in registering their groups and connecting them to relevant government officials, including Parish Chiefs, Community Development Officers and district leaders, to ensure they benefited from government programmes.

Amooti also encouraged the community to work collectively towards improving their livelihoods, strengthening families and supporting the development of their mosque and surrounding communities.
