Rubirizi District Local Government, in the Health Department, has been reviewing performance on the indicators of Malaria, TB and HIV in the last financial year.The Performance Review Meeting, held in Rubirizi District Headquarters.
According to Sr Ainomugisha The District Health Educator said that the performance review was aimed at reviewing data, services and performance of health workers in health facilities, to look at where the gaps are so they can fix them, to look at the successes achieved, and to put in place a good plan to improve service delivery in the community and help health workers very much, because they get to know where they are performing well, where they are failing, and where they need to improve added that this review meeting will help them very much to improve also to hear feedback coming from the community and to put in place plans that will help to give the people good quality service.
She added that Rubirizi District local government Health Department has improved and now ranked 14th in all districts in the whole of Uganda, compared to last year when they were in position 46 which means Rubirizi has made a very big step, moving from 46 to 14, because of hard work, following data, doing outreaches in the community, working together with health workers and partners, and listening to the people.
Sr Petience explained what helped them to perform as a district, including Good cooperation between health workers, health incharges, district officials and Sub-County leadership, mentorship and support supervision in all health facilities, community outreaches, with VHTs and CHEWs working in the community and Putting in place Continuous Quality Improvement in all health facilities explained what is happening in their facility, what is failing, and what needs support. Health workers said community feedback is what helps them to become better, because the people know where service is not reaching well and these gaps do not discourage them, but they help them to put in place good action plans, increase mentorship, increase outreaches, and follow up each facility.
This review meeting will help them very much to improve, to check if they are improving in quality, to give the people good service, to bring accountability, and to be able to take Rubirizi from 14 to Number 1 in the whole of Uganda.
Mwanwhile Dr. Primu Niwamanya, The Health Incharge of Rugazi Health Center IV one of the participants thanked the District Leadership for continuing to organize the Performance Review, which has helped them very much as health workers to improve their performance and their work to ensure they give patients Government service.
Dr. Primu said the performance review meeting bring them together as health workers to review their data performance give them advice were to improve services and It has helped them very much as facility were improve where they are failing, and where they need to put more effort noted that Every review makes them work better than before asked District leadership to continue organizing these reviews every quarter will help them very much pledged that Rugazi HC IV will continue to work hard giving patients quality , transparency,trustworthy Government service on time .END.
