KAMPALA, UGANDA — Budadiri East Member of Parliament, Hon. Eng. Julius Nakiyi, has asked the government to provide an update on the delayed release of academic transcripts for Allied Health graduates who completed their examinations in June 2025.

While speaking on the floor of Parliament today, October 29, 2026, Nakiyi raised concern over the continued delay, saying the affected graduates remain unable to proceed with important professional and academic opportunities because they have not received their transcripts from the relevant assessment board.
Nakiyi told Parliament that he had received a petition from the graduates approximately two weeks ago, in which they expressed frustration over the failure to obtain their academic documents despite completing their examinations more than a year ago.
According to the legislator, the missing transcripts have left the graduates unable to pursue employment opportunities, advance to further studies or complete the licensing processes required to practise their respective professions.
The MP explained that after receiving the petition, he brought the matter to the attention of the responsible minister, who reportedly informed him that the transcripts were ready for collection.
Following the minister’s assurance, Nakiyi said he communicated the information to the affected graduates and advised them to collect their documents, raising their hopes that the matter had been resolved.
However, the legislator said the graduates continued to face delays, with the transcripts still unavailable when they attempted to obtain them.
Nakiyi consequently sought clarification from the government on the current status of the transcripts, questioning why the graduates were still waiting despite the earlier assurance that their documents were ready.
He called for a clear explanation of the circumstances surrounding the delay, emphasising the need for the responsible authorities to address the matter so that the affected graduates can access employment, pursue further education and complete the necessary professional licensing procedures.
The status of the transcripts and the reasons for their continued delay had not been established in the information presented to Parliament. The responsible ministry and assessment board are expected to clarify the matter and indicate when the affected graduates will receive their documents.
