KYEGEGWA, Uganda — The Director of St Thomas Junior School in Kyegegwa, Tom Bright Amooti, has expressed confidence in the quality of education offered at the institution, citing his decision to enrol his own children at the school as a reflection of his belief in its standards.

Amooti made the remarks during a Primary Seven dedication event at the school, where candidates were encouraged to prepare for their forthcoming Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

He emphasised the importance of leadership by example, noting that personal choices should reflect the values and principles leaders advocate in their professional responsibilities.

According to Amooti, his children’s enrolment at St Thomas Junior School demonstrates his confidence in the institution’s ability to provide quality education.

The director’s position highlights the importance of trust in schools, particularly when parents assess the quality of teaching, learning conditions and the overall academic environment before choosing where to educate their children.

The Primary Seven dedication event also underscored the importance of preparing candidates academically and psychologically for their examinations, which mark a significant stage in Uganda’s primary education system.

Such school activities provide opportunities for administrators, teachers and parents to encourage learners, reinforce discipline and promote commitment to academic excellence.

Amooti’s remarks further draw attention to the responsibility of school leaders to demonstrate confidence in the institutions they manage and to support the educational aspirations of the learners under their care.

St Thomas Junior School, located in Kyegegwa District, is among the institutions serving families seeking primary education in the area.

As the Primary Seven candidates approach their examinations, the emphasis remains on effective preparation, learner support and the collective responsibility of educators and parents in promoting academic achievement.
