KIBAALE DISTRICT, UGANDA — Buyanja East County Member of Parliament, Dr Emely Kugonza, has today handed over 1,644 mathematical sets to support Primary Seven candidates ahead of the forthcoming Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

The mathematical sets were received by the Inspector of Schools at Dr Kugonza’s home in Kaisekenkere Village, Matale Sub-county, Kibaale District, in an initiative aimed at supporting learners as they prepare for one of the most important stages in their academic journey.

The donation underscores the importance of providing learners with essential scholastic materials to help them approach their examinations with confidence. Mathematical sets are among the basic requirements for candidates sitting examinations that involve mathematics and geometry-related questions.

Dr Kugonza’s intervention comes at a critical time when Primary Seven candidates across the country are intensifying their preparations for the national examinations. Access to the required examination materials can help reduce the burden on parents and guardians who may be struggling to meet the educational needs of their children.
The handover through the Inspector of Schools also highlights the role of education officials in coordinating school-related activities and ensuring that support intended for learners reaches the appropriate beneficiaries. The official received the 1,644 mathematical sets on behalf of the intended education beneficiaries.
The donation is expected to contribute to efforts to improve examination preparedness among Primary Seven learners in Buyanja East and the wider Kibaale education community. However, the specific schools and number of candidates expected to benefit from the materials were not immediately provided.
As the PLE examinations approach, parents, teachers, school administrators and community leaders continue to play an important role in ensuring that learners receive the necessary academic guidance, encouragement and materials. Such support can help candidates concentrate on revision and enter examination rooms better prepared.
Dr Kugonza’s contribution also draws attention to the need for continued cooperation between elected leaders and education stakeholders in addressing challenges that affect learners. Supporting pupils with basic scholastic materials is one way of promoting a more supportive learning environment, particularly for families facing financial difficulties.
The handover of the 1,644 mathematical sets marks an education-focused intervention ahead of the national examinations, with attention now turning to the distribution of the materials to the intended beneficiaries and the continued preparation of Primary Seven candidates for their final primary school assessment.
