KAZO — Kazo County Member of Parliament Hon. Dan Kimosho has called for urgent intervention from the Government and security authorities following the latest reported killing in the district, which has pushed the number of murder victims to 14.

The latest victim has been identified as Amos Nuwagira, 37, of Bwizi, Buremba, who was reportedly killed during the night. According to Kimosho, the attackers also took the deceased’s motorcycle after the incident.

Kimosho expressed deep concern over the continued killings, saying the situation in Kazo appears to be getting out of hand and requires immediate action from the state to protect residents and their property.

In his appeal, the legislator called for the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) to reinforce the Police in Kazo, arguing that additional security support is necessary to address the escalating concerns and restore confidence among residents.

Kimosho directly called upon the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs, the UPDF, Uganda Police Force and senior government and security officials to intervene in the situation. Among those he appealed to were President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Inspector General of Police and other senior security and government officials.

The MP questioned how many more people would have to lose their lives before serious action is taken, stressing that the people of Kazo deserve protection from the state. His appeal comes amid growing concern among residents over a series of reported killings in different parts of the district.

Kimosho’s latest intervention adds to his previous calls for stronger security measures in Kazo. He has urged security agencies to intensify intelligence gathering, investigations and deployment in areas affected by the reported killings.

As investigations into Nuwagira’s death continue, Kimosho is calling for coordinated action by the Government and security agencies to prevent further loss of life, apprehend those responsible and restore security in Kazo.
