ALEBTONG, UGANDA — Woman Member of Parliament for Alebtong District and Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Dr. Mercy Faith Lakisa, has extended warm birthday wishes to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as he marks his 82nd birthday.
In a heartfelt video message, Dr. Lakisa spoke on behalf of the people of Alebtong and Uganda’s young people, describing the occasion as a special moment to celebrate the President’s years of service to the country.
“Greetings from Alebtong District and all the young people of Uganda,” Dr. Lakisa said. “I am Doctor Mercy Faith Lakisa, Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs.”
She said the birthday provided an opportunity to recognise President Museveni’s long service and dedication to building a Uganda that citizens can be proud of.
“Today is very special as we celebrate a man who has endured over the years, who has remained unshakably dedicated to ensuring that he builds a Uganda every citizen can be proud of. And we are the beneficiaries of the foundations that he laid,” she said.
Dr. Lakisa drew inspiration from the biblical journey of Moses, using it to reflect on the demands of leadership and public service.
“Leadership demands discipline, leadership demands sacrifice, it demands tolerance. And it also demands that you offer service that is beyond just yourself,” she said.
On her own behalf and that of Uganda’s youth, Dr. Lakisa wished the President continued wisdom, good health and strength as he serves the country.
“Happy 82nd birthday, Your Excellency. May God continue to grant you divine wisdom, robust health, a renewed strength, and many more years of purposeful service to this nation. And may you continue to inspire the generations that are yet to come,” she said.
She concluded her message with a warm birthday tribute:
“Long live Mose. Long live Your Excellency. Happy birthday.”
The message reflects Dr. Lakisa’s appreciation of President Museveni’s years of service and her recognition of the role of leadership, sacrifice and service in shaping the country’s future.
The Minister continues to engage with young people and advocate for issues affecting Uganda’s youth and children.
