Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament Enid Atuheire Origumisiriza has pledged continued support for Kigezi HomeBoyz Football Club following a meeting with the club’s Business Relationships Manager, Ian Twinamatsiko, at her office in Kampala.
Origumisiriza, popularly known as Aunt Enid, hosted Twinamatsiko for discussions centred on strengthening partnerships, promoting football and exploring opportunities to advance sports development across the Kigezi sub-region.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Twinamatsiko to engage the legislator on the role of strategic partnerships in supporting the growth of Kigezi HomeBoyz FC and creating a stronger sporting environment for communities in the region.
Twinamatsiko serves as the Business Relationships Manager at Kigezi HomeBoyz FC, where his responsibilities include building relationships and exploring partnerships that can contribute to the club’s ambitions and long-term sustainability.
Kigezi HomeBoyz FC, based in Kabale District, traces its beginnings to 2012 when it operated as Kabale Sharp FC before rebranding to Kigezi HomeBoyz in 2019.
The club, popularly known as The Gorillas, has grown from a community-based football initiative into a professional side representing the wider Kigezi region, with ambitions of establishing the region as a competitive force in Ugandan football.
Origumisiriza, who represents Kabale District in Parliament, expressed her commitment to maintaining a working relationship with the club, pledging continued partnership and support towards sports development.
She said the discussions with Twinamatsiko were productive, emphasising the importance of partnerships in growing sports and creating opportunities for talent development in Kigezi.
The engagement highlights the importance of involving political leaders, private-sector players and sports administrators in building sustainable sporting institutions, particularly in regions where football clubs depend on partnerships and community support to achieve their ambitions.
