KASIMBI, KIBAALE — Buyanja East County Member of Parliament, Dr Emely Kugonza, conducted a fact-finding visit to St John Baptist Secondary School Kasimbi to investigate concerns over understaffing at the school.

Dr Kugonza visited the school following concerns that the institution was operating with a shortage of teachers, a situation that could affect effective teaching and learning.

During the visit, the MP engaged the school administration to establish the extent of the staffing gap and understand the challenges affecting the delivery of education.

The inquiry also focused on concerns over the district’s wage allocation, with reports indicating that funds intended to facilitate the recruitment of teachers for St John Baptist SS Kasimbi had been diverted to recruit production and health staff.
Dr Kugonza sought clarification on the circumstances surrounding the reallocation of the wage resources and its impact on staffing at the school.
The MP expressed concern that the shortage of teachers was placing additional pressure on the available teaching staff and could undermine the quality of education offered to learners.
He said the findings from the fact-finding exercise would guide further engagement with district authorities and other relevant stakeholders to address the staffing gap.
Dr Kugonza’s intervention forms part of his efforts to monitor service delivery in Buyanja East and ensure that government resources are directed towards addressing critical needs in public institutions.
