The handover celemony of giving back to the community took place at Bunyaruguru Development Sacco Kyambura Branch and was attended by school heads, members, and community leaders and the initiative was aimed at giving back to the community and appreciating customers for their continued support .
Mr Philly Matsiko The Chairperson Bod Bunyaruguru Development Sacco said that top management decided to support schools with desks after realized that many pupils were sitting on the floor due to lack of desks which affects learning and this is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility aimed at improving education, health and general welfare of our customers and the wider community in Rubirizi noted that sacco want their customers to live in a healthy environment and to see their children study in good conditions.”
Mr. Matsiko Philly added that this is not the first time the Sacco is supporting schools.
Bunyaruguru Development Sacco has also been carrying out career guidance and hygiene sensitization campaigns in schools, supports girl child education through distributing sanitary pads and text books to school girls, providing dustbins in public places to promote sanitation and cleanliness added that the Sacco also supported Rugazi Health Center IV with beds, mattresses, and privacy curtains for the maternity patients in ward to improve care for mothers and patients also donated beds and mattresses to Katerera Health Center III, provided plastic chairs and a waiting shade to Ntara Health Center IV in Kitagwenda District to support patients seeking treatment further noted that the Sacco is active in environmental conservation protection and town cleanliness exercise to ensure that customers and residents live and work in a clean and healthy environment, free from disease.
According to Madam Nankwasa Shalon manager Bunyaruguru development sacco kyambura branch said that Sacco intervened after receiving several requests from schools about desk shortage received complaints that pupils were studying while sitting on the floor committed to giving back to the community by encourage their customers to work hard, live healthy lives and take good care of their children for a better future and be able to educate their children.
Meanwhile Mr Tweheyo Eliab the Headteacher Ndekye ps and Kanyankole one of the beneficiaries thanked Bunyaruguru Development Sacco for supporting schools with these school desks will help and greatly improve the learning environment their pupils a great deal in terms of academic performance and discipline highlighted the challenge of pupils sitting on the floor has been affecting learning, but with these desks recieved from bunyaruguru development sacco they are confident that children will now study better,recommend Bunyaruguru Development Sacco for always remembering to give back to its members this is a very good gesture and it gives them courage and morale as members to continue saving and working with the Sacco because it supports us to grow faster.
