KAMPALA – Dr. Lakisa Mercy Faith has described it as a distinct honour to officiate at the 2nd Annual Real Fathers Learning Convening, held under the theme “Scaling and Sustaining Outcomes of the Real Fathers Programme in Uganda.”

The high-level gathering brought together stakeholders to review progress, share insights, and strengthen partnerships aimed at promoting responsible fatherhood, positive parenting, gender equality, and the overall wellbeing of children and families across the country.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Lakisa emphasised that sustaining the transformative impact of the Real Fathers Programme demands unwavering commitment, institutional alignment, and collective action from all partners.

She noted that the convening served as a critical platform for reflecting on achievements while charting a clear path for expanding the programme’s reach and effectiveness nationwide.

Dr. Lakisa reaffirmed the shared resolve to ensure that fathers across Uganda are fully empowered to play an active and meaningful role in nurturing resilient children.

According to her, building stronger and healthier families remains central to the programme’s vision and requires continuous collaboration among government, civil society, and community actors.

The Real Fathers Programme has been recognised for its contribution to shifting mindsets around male involvement in childcare and household responsibilities, with the annual learning convening providing space to consolidate lessons and best practices.

Participants at the second edition of the event engaged in deliberations focused on practical strategies for scaling successful interventions and addressing remaining gaps in service delivery and community engagement.

Dr. Lakisa concluded by calling on all stakeholders to remain steadfast in the collective mission of supporting fathers so they can contribute effectively to the development of resilient children and cohesive families throughout Uganda.
