KAMPALA: Betty Ethel Naluyima has praised the 13th Women’s Forum hosted by the Parliament of Uganda, describing it as an important platform for national female leaders to share experiences, break barriers and promote transformational leadership.

The forum provided valuable lessons on leadership, empowerment and the importance of women supporting one another in their different leadership positions.

The event was graced by the Nnabagereka of Buganda, Her Royal Highness Sylvia Nagginda, whose presence added significance to the gathering of women leaders from different sectors.

Naluyima described the forum as an “adult Ekisaakaate,” drawing a comparison with the Nnabagereka’s initiative that focuses on nurturing values, leadership and responsible citizenship among young people.

The forum provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on the challenges facing women in leadership and discuss ways of overcoming barriers that limit their participation and influence.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of transformational leadership, which encourages leaders to inspire others, promote positive change and work towards shared goals.

Naluyima emphasised the value of women uplifting one another, noting that cooperation and mutual support are important in strengthening women’s participation in decision-making and national development.

The gathering brought together women leaders to exchange ideas and reflect on how they can use their positions to influence communities, institutions and the country at large.

The forum highlighted the importance of continued platforms that encourage women’s leadership, mentorship and collaboration in building a more inclusive society.
