KAMPALA — David Ivan Masajjage, Assistant Director of Communication and Public Affairs at the Parliament of Uganda, has formally handed over office to Acting Director of Communication and Public Affairs, Ms. Grace Gidudu, following his retirement from the Parliamentary Service.

The handover marks the end of Masajjage’s 21 years of service in the Parliamentary Service, during which he worked in various departments and contributed to the institution’s work and development.

Masajjage’s long career in Parliament saw him take on different responsibilities before serving as Assistant Director of Communication and Public Affairs, where he was involved in the institution’s communication and engagement with the public and media.

His retirement brings to a close more than two decades of service within an institution that plays a central role in Uganda’s legislative process.

Gidudu takes over the leadership of the Directorate of Communication and Public Affairs in an acting capacity, bringing her own experience in parliamentary communication and media relations to the role.

Before assuming the acting directorship, Gidudu served as Assistant Director for Media Relations, where she handled parliamentary media engagement and communication responsibilities.

The transition is expected to provide continuity in the work of the Directorate as Parliament continues communicating its legislative business and engaging the public, media and other stakeholders.

After 21 years of service, Masajjage now begins a new chapter following a lengthy career in the Parliamentary Service, leaving behind years of institutional experience and contribution to Parliament’s work.
