RUKIGA DISTRICT – In a major victory for the people of Kashambya and Rukiga District at large, the Government of Uganda has released UGX 750 Million for the construction and comprehensive improvement of Kashambya Sub-county Health Centre. This timely and life-changing intervention is a direct result of the urgent matter that was ably and passionately raised on the floor of Parliament by our own Woman Member of Parliament for Rukiga, Hon. Dr. Sylvia.
For a long time, the people of Kashambya have endured the painful challenge of seeking quality healthcare from a facility that was overstretched, dilapidated, and in dire need of attention. Our mothers have walked long distances to deliver, our children have lacked timely care, and our dedicated health workers have served under extremely difficult conditions. Hon. Dr. Sylvia, having listened to these cries from the ground, carried the voice of Kashambya to the national stage where decisions are made.
On the floor of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Sylvia presented the plight of Kashambya Health Centre with facts, clarity, and deep compassion. The funds are earmarked for new construction works, renovation of existing structures, and overall improvement of service delivery at the centre.

It means safer deliveries for our mothers, better immunization and nutrition care for our children, improved working conditions for our health workers, and restored hope and dignity for every patient who walks through the doors of the facility. A healthy community is the foundation of a productive and prosperous Rukiga.
